Andrew Goosen and Tim Lobb visited The Richmond Golf Club today (May 13, 2010) to update the Club on our design progress and review the bunkers built on the pilot hole, number 11. The pilot hole bunkers were built Spring 2009. Please see below.

The new bunkers at the first landing zone on hole 11

We have used the Sportcrete product in the construction of these pilot hole bunkers and they are performing very well from a technical and playability perspective.

The softer edges with the 'fluffy' grass has developed well over the past year

We are in the process of completing the detail design for the remainder of the bunkers with construction commencing for the next phase of the works from September 2010. This phase will be approximately 50% of the total bunker re-build.

The second landing zone at hole 11 with cross bunkers to avoid

The bunker programme is scheduled to be completed over two winters, 2010 + 2011.

The fluffy bunker edges blend well with this parkland setting

Keep an eye out for further updates on this exciting renovation project that we are undertaking.
